Rainy Saturday

We are having a low key day today. I have a head cold (William's birthday present to me). It is rainy out side and Adam has to work today.

Some pictures from last night. I would leave William on the floor on his back to run and do something and I would come back and he was on his stomach. Seems like he is working on mastering that roll over direction.

This morning I tried to catch him in the act of rolling over, but when the camera comes out he doesn't want to do it. I caught bits and pieces, but can't get the videos to upload. I must be doing something wrong as this has been the case for a while now. Fellow bloggers, any idea what I should do to get the videos to post?

Cold in our nose!

The bulb nose sucker has been William's friend and enemy the last two days. He was really congested yesterday, and is still quite a bit today. But otherwise he seems to be his normal self, so that is good.

Yesterday we went on a long walk, went to Target, and I dabbled in making baby food. It is really pretty simple, just cook the veggie or fruit then puree it. Green beans, carrots and sweet potatoes are done, on to apples, pears, peas, peaches and squash.

Pictures from this morning, hanging out with Daddy in our pajamas.

A Good Cause

Adam, Will and I will be participating in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation walk in our area on May 15th. We are trying to raise 25,000 dollars with all the walkers from my company. My personal goal is $100.

If you would like to help me raise the money, please go to the link below and donate. Thanks for your support!

Five Months Today

William is five whole months today.

He is starting to roll around a lot more, and likes to roll to his side. He has rolled from his stomach to his back a couple of times by himself, which causes a great look of surprise.

William is making more noises, gee, gaa, aah, and ooh noises.

Just tonight he is starting to get the cereal eating thing, but most still makes it back out. But at least he stopped crying during it.

Sleeping still isn't all that great. Some nights he is up once, some nights lately it has been many, many times.

He is a lot of fun to play with, and is giggling more and more. He likes to get his neck nuzzled by his Daddy.

Amazing that five months have gone by with this little guy in our life. We feel so lucky and we hope he knows how much he is loved.

Check out my hat

We went on our first stroller walk today sitting in the stroller (not in the infant carrier), and we wore a very cute hat from Grandma S.

Getting ready for the walk, Mom had to snap some pictures while Dad tapped his foot in impatience.

William fell asleep about a block into the ride, fresh air, sun and a cool hat will do that to you. When we got back we pulled up the brim of the hat and caught him waking up. Too funny!

New sounds

William has been trying out new sounds. He has mastered the "gee" and "gaa" sounds and is moving on to the "aaa" sounds. He especially likes to make these noises when he and I are driving home from day care. The first time he did it, I thought he was super tired and yawning the whole way home, but after looking in the baby mirror I found that he was just entertaining himself.

Some pictures from today.... hanging out with Mom after our nap.

A trip to Menards will really take it out of you.

We found out that Murphy has a stone again in his bladder. So they will again perform the hydro propulsion technique on him again to try to get it out without surgery (they put him under, fill him up and then squeeze his bladder while in an upright position). Last time it worked and they got all the stones out, and the only side effect was that he was really whiny from the anesthetic.

So we hope it goes well again this time. He just turned eight this month, its hard to believe he has been a part of our family for almost eight years now. He is doing well with William, the only trouble he has been causing with William is when William sneezes. Murphy wants to get in his face to see what is going on. William is taking more of an interest in Murphy and likes to watch him move about the room.

Today William had fun looking in the mirror and smiling at the cute baby smiling back at him. We also had fun out in the back yard in our stroller watching Mom as she picked up Murphy's area and put up a new bird feeder.

1st Cereal

We tried rice cereal for the first time last evening, and William did not like it much. He is almost five months now, so we decided that was close enough to the 6 months that our pediatrician recommended. Plus he has been waking up three times in the night the last week and I am one tired Momma. I am hoping if we get a little more into him that maybe he will sleep better. At this point in time it is just practice with swallowing and eating from a spoon. Not too much makes it down.

Happy Easter

It feels funny not doing much with extended family today, but we saw them all last weekend. It was nice for us to have our family together this morning. We took a family picture today and went on a nice drive. Murphy was in some of the pictures, but he skedaddled off for this one, the one that turned out the best will William facing the camera.

Playing with all the Easter animals, lamb, duck and rabbit.

Spring is here, well at least for a day

Spring is in the air, little baby skin is exposed. Which leads to lots of kisses from Momma, as she just can't resist those rolly polly legs.

First cut flowers from the garden, I just love having fresh flowers in the house!

Will has started sucking his three fingers. Not sure if he will be a finger sucker like I was or a thumb sucker like Adam was, we will see.

Introducing our new nephew

Picture taken last weekend of my sister in-law Brea, nephew Keegan, William and I. We didn't coordinate our outfits, but great minds do think alike.

And our newest nephew, Declan Edward, welcome to the world little one.
