Weekend Fun

Having fun running around outside in the yard. Favorite things to do right now are pick up the "nut nuts", we have hickory trees in our yard that start dropping nuts and don't stop till the snow flies. Looks like it will be a bumper crop this year as we have half filled up a 5 gallon pail already. We will see if his enthusiasm for picking them up lasts into the fall.

Will also likes drawing with "chalk chalk", which means he hands us the color he wants us to draw a picture with. We draw a picture and then its "mor mor". Same thing happens with coloring crayons and markers.

Still working on getting our sunglasses on by our selves.

Will seems to be doing funny things left and right, and I have a hard time remember them all to put on the blog. Lets see, he now likes me to play "piggies" with his toes, as in "This little piggy went to market...", especially during bath time and when we get to the last one he shakes his head back and forth when I say "Weehee Weehee all the way home".

Yesterday I laid on the floor on my back and he came along and laid beside me and we put our feet up in the air and had a grand time kicking and copying Momma. He is becoming quite the mimic.

Have a great week everyone, stay cool as it is suppose to get hot again!

Pool fun

Well another great weekend comes to and end. We had fun getting help from William cleaning the floors. Though the task seems to take twice as long with his help. This time I got wise to his schemes and pulled out two brooms as Will always wants the one I have, but darn it I forgot to pull out the extra dust pan and we battled over it. But in the end the floors got clean, so that's what matters.

After getting drooled on during a wrestling match Adam changed his shirt only to notice that they now matched, so I had to get a picture before Adam went off to work.

Sunday we had a lot of fun in the pool in the back yard. We got all ready to go to the YMCA to swim then got there and there was not a car in the parking lot; closed on Sunday's in the summer. So we came home and set up our own pool. Adam and William had great fun with a new game they made up. William sits on the edge of the pool, Adam puts his feet down and this sends William up in the air. A couple of these and William falls into the pool laughing and then gets right back on the edge again demanding more. I was laughing my head off and my face hurt from smiling so much. It was too funny to watch. And add to this William actually kept sunglasses on his face for the first time ever. Before he would just pull them off, but this time I kept saying "Cool Dude" when he had them on and then the rest of the time we were outside he had them on.

20 Months

William is 20 Months old. I am getting to that time where I don't know if I should say 20 months or round down to 1.5 years when people ask me how old he is.

Will is doing great and is a lot of fun. He is starting to act along to songs like the Itsy Bitsy Spider. He knows where most of his body parts are and can name quite a few too. He has mastered putting buckles together, but thankfully hasn't figured out how to open them yet.

Grandma and Grandpa S were out for a visit this week and left today. I think they had a blast with William and they seem to be amazed by all that he can do. I got a couple really nice pictures of them with Will, so that made me happy as I kept forgetting to do that while they were here in the past.

Just tonight I caught sight of two new eye teeth on top poking through and the bottom two look to be close too. Today we had fun shopping in the morning and had our big Target run. Every 4-6 weeks it seems we spend a ton stocking up on household items that we need and other stuff that we don't need, but seems to makes it into the cart anyway. Today's splurge was a inflatable pool for Will. We filled it up this morning and had a lot of fun in it this afternoon while it was so hot outside.

Hanging out in the drive way one evening checking out Grandpa's truck.

We made it to the beach!

Today we made it to the beach 30 minutes from our house. It was a very nice beach, shallow quite a far way out, clear water, a little sandy area for sand castles, all in all perfect for William now and when he gets older. We got their early and were the only ones there for a while, then it got busy as we were leaving to go have lunch. It was a much more built up and busy lake than we are used to up north, but William enjoyed watching the sail boats, kayaks and motor boats.

Fun times, we will definitely check this beach out again!

July 4th

Well our weekend started out sooner than I expected, but not in a good way. William came home sick from daycare with a fever, chills and pretty unhappy on Friday. Adam picked him up and then I got home so he could go to work. Poor Will was flopped over the couch crying his little eyes out on to it. Apparently he didn't want any soothing from Daddy and it took me a while to calm him down too. Advil and a nap were in order, so that was pretty much our Friday and Saturday. He would feel a little better, but when the fever reducer wore off he just drooped. Thankfully he started feeling better on Sunday and we were able to do a couple of fun things this weekend. Like play in the back yard and go to the park.

Playing in the backyard after he got his shirt soaked at the water table.

Hopefully we can have more fun next weekend. I really want to get him to a beach that is 3o mi from our house. So I hope to have pictures of that next weekend!
