Up North

We had a great time at the cabin with my parents. All we could have asked for was a little nicer weather (rainy and 60 degrees for a high until our last two days).

William had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa playing in the cabin with old and new toys, at the park in town, in the pool in town, washing cars (yes, Adam needed to wash the car even though the cabin is on a gravel road), blowing bubbles, riding on the boat, scooping up sand in the lake and the list goes on.

William posing by his favorite thing right now, garbage cans. I have mentioned it before but he loves to pick up stuff and then put it in the garbage. But now he has figured out it is more fun to pretend to throw the stuff away so you get picked up again to try to throw it away, again and again...

William did great getting a life jacket on, the buckles kept him entertained until the boat ride kicked in then the wind and motor noise lulled him to sleep in my arms for the whole ride around Long and May lakes.

Helping build the fires, we only took him out the last night in his pajamas. I was too afraid of him getting too close to the fire.

William tried and liked Root Beer!

Having fun with Grandma pulling little dogs on leashes (the one behind him was my little snoopy from when I was growing up). It was fun to see all the old toys my parents saved and William was at a great age to play with them all.

Helping Daddy wash the very dirty car only to see it dirty again the next day :)

Thanks Mom and Dad for a wonderful time, we look forward to doing it again in August with you guys!

19 Months

Sorry no pictures to share, I haven't gotten the camera out for a little while (putting in some weird and long hours at work on a big project for my plant). So instead I thought I would share some of William's favorite things right now at 19 Months old ... drum roll....

Bubbles - He will assume that every time we are going outside that bubbles are on the agenda and ask for them repeatedly. We discovered a cap that we had semi-discarded that allows for wand insertion, but helps slow spills when the jug is tipped, that has cut down on our consumption quite a bit, thank goodness because our sidewalk was getting a regular bubble bath :)

Pick up - This involves picking up things and then putting them in the garbage or a bin. Favorite items to pick up, lint and dirt on the carpet, sticks in the yard, garbage at the park (and when that runs out he starts putting the park's wood chips in the garbage). The other day he was so intent on doing this in his room he got every spec I could see, no need to vacuum!

Car buttons - William loves to crawl around in the car when it is parked in the garage, he crawls from backseat to front seat and has fun with all the buttons. We usually get a bit of a surprise when we start the car as the windshield wipers are usually going as well as other stuff.

One more week of work and then a whole week of vacation starts. We are headed up to my parents cabin up North to spend a week with them. I look forward to all the fun and all that William will get into up there this year. We are going to try to take the trip up in one day, it's 8 hours in the car (not counting stops) so it will be a long day. We have movies, books, toys and stops planned to help break up the time. I hope it goes well or a long day is going to seem like forever!

Have a great week everyone.

Little Zoo and Water Table

We had Grandma S out for a visit to help watch Will while I had to work shifts this past weekend. We had fun playing in the water table and going to a little zoo near our city.
