Inside fun

Thinking of things to do inside when the weather is too cold and blustery to be outside.  Here's what we came up with and I was allowed to take a picture of (either by not being noticed, or when William thinks he is being funny)...

Climb on Daddy when he is resting in the chair.
Get some tickles and let out a few toots!
Take some photos of Murphy
Get treats for Murphy to do tricks.
Pull out sleeper couch then dig to see what you can find underneath.  William found two tiny black balls.
Jump around on the cushions and mattress singing "I love tissues" then laugh.
Aim your pa-tootie at Mom who is snapping pictures, toot then ask to see the picture and laugh.

Swim Lesson's and other firsts.

William started his first swimming lessons this weekend and did great.  He is a fast swimmer, but doesn't float on his own, or with one noodle yet.  One of his daycare friends was in his class, so they chatted, laughed and splashed when the teacher was busy with the other children.

We had fun in the snow the other night, we shoveled as a family then took a sled ride on the sidewalk around the neighborhood as most of our neighbors hadn't shoveled yet.  On the down hill slopes, Adam gave William a push and let him sled down.  He had a great time and we had lots of laughs.  We got back to our house and William wanted to go around again, so we had another round of fun before bed.

Continuing with William's not wanting pictures to be taken, he first hides, then puts his hand out and lastly yells at me to stop.  Then the goof wants me to take a video instead.  So I recorded a bunch of quick videos talking about his four year old life.  Too large to down load, so instead you get the pictures :)

The other first of the week was William got up in the middle of the night to potty.  And he did it without walking me up.  Great but a bit scary for me when I find out after the fact.  How deep a sleeper am I?  Anyway we were very proud and made a big deal of it, hoping it will continue and we might be able to stop buying nighttime diapers at some point!

William is also doing an awesome job of dressing himself.  Only occasionally getting a shirt on backwards.  And mister stubborn will want it to stay that way for the rest of the day, oh well, pick your battles.

Adam's Birthday

Adam turned 33 this past week and we celebrated with cake and more cake.  First a super nummy ice cream oreo cake from DQ while G&G S were here, and then a William and Mommy made cake which William liberally decorated with sprinkles.

I haven't gotten many pictures taken lately, as I am commanded to stop when I do start. So here are the two I got in before being scolded.

William and I braved the icy roads to drive to Iowa this weekend to celebrate a life well lived.  My Great Aunt Anita passed away at age 96.  She will be missed.  She was a very strong and wonderful woman.  Sad how you learn things after their deaths, but I learned she was an ER trauma nurse for 36 years and met Amelia Earhart at a seminar.  The service was nice and the lunch afterward did have Iowa funeral jello (a concoction of fruit, jello and cool whip), but only orange, sorry Dad no green stuff.

I got to visit some of the relatives as I haven't seen them since I was down there with William when he was one year old.  Good short trip, just wish the roads had been a bit easier to drive on, we got caught in both heavy fog and ice.  Not a good combination!

My parents left for Australia on Monday and are enjoying the summer weather and visiting.  We will connect up with them tonight to get an update on their trip.

Have a good week, take care.
