A quick flashback
Adam set up our computer screen saver to pull random pictures from our William folder. So I can sit here and look at the screen saver, saying to myself "I just don't remember him that small", maybe you will think that too.

The big bath.... p.s. it's scary
William tried taking a bath in the big bath tub tonight and didn't like it one bit. There were tears and everything. It probably didn't help that we went on a walk right before bath time and he fell asleep so we had to wake him up for the bath. I think we will try again, but not right away.

Eight Months Old
William turned 8 months old this past Tuesday. We purchased a swing to hang under our deck for Will and he has been having fun with it. The parks by us are a bit of a stroller ride away, and usually he will fall asleep on the way, so we thought having a swing at the house would be fun, and William agrees.

Eight month old pictures with his bear...

So what's happening at 8 months...
- William is getting harder to hold on to, he likes to climb all over us and contort his little body to reach things.
-Only two teeth so far.
- Eating in his highchair really well. Lately we have introduced avocado, chicken and yogurt and Will only seems to like avocado from that group, but we will keep trying. He is also working on biter biscuits and can eat them pretty well, but it does make a big mess.
- William is sitting on his own very well. Occasionally he leans a little too far one way or the other and ends up laying down. When this happens to the side, he is just fine, but if it happens to the back he gets a bit scared and cries.
- He has become an expert hair grabber, even with my shorter hair after getting it cut, he still manages to get a handful every time I am in range.
- Will really liked Grandma S's necklace this last week, when she didn't wear it he seemed confused.
- Today I was putting one of his barn yard creatures in to a stacking cup. Will took it out, put in on the ground then picked it up and put it back into the cup. So I think we have a little genius on our hands (I might be a bit partial and blinded by Motherly love).
- William is down to two naps a day, usually about 1.5 hours in length if at home, only 30 min if at daycare. I am guessing it is due to all the excitement there, and we keep the house pretty quiet when he sleeps.
- He enjoys walking around with help, and Murphy has been better about it. Daddy and him made the rounds this morning.

Saturday Fun
Lately when Adam and I have both been home with William we have been having so much fun playing with him on the floor. William is now definitely ticklish, so we torture the poor little guy to hear all those cute giggles. Will also like climbing around on Dad. He has started to get the one foot in front of the other, when we help him walk around the room.
No crawling yet, but I keep thinking it could be any time. So we are getting ready with lowering the crib and trying to find a top of the stairs gate we like. Any suggestions on a brand/style that you have and like? We bought one at Target a while ago, but as we went to install it today the opening mechanism seems so cheep and breakable as it is just cheep plastic.

Parade pics
Well, we made it to the parade, and we got to see Daddy before and afterward.

Daddy's cool police car. William liked looking at the firetrucks but wasn't a big fan of their horns. The sirens were no big deal, but they kept honking that absurdly loud horn. The other thing that caught his attention was the grass, very novel and interesting to pull and touch. Have a great, safe 4th!
Happy 4th of July
Happy 4th to everyone. Hope you all are having fun and enjoying the weather. William and I visited some work friends in Oshkosh yesterday. He was really good and hung around on my lap most of the time. Once we got in the car that evening it only took two miles for him to fall completely asleep, which made settling down to bed when we got home a bit interesting, but we managed.
We experimented with puffs yesterday at lunch time, more for practice than anything else. He got close...

I think I am going to pass up fire works this year, I don't think I am ready for the challenge that going by myself, the noise and how he reacts and then dealing with bed time after the fact. Adam headed into work early today as they have a parade in Germantown, which we might attend depending on how the morning nap goes.
