Happy Thanksgiving

Lots of cooking, visiting, food, family and friends this Thanksgiving weekend.  So much to be thankful for, William, my family, my friends, my life, my health and last of all my husband (he couldn't come along this visit since he had to work, but we missed him).

Making cupcakes to celebrate birthdays for Brea, Keegan, and Grandma Mc
Me getting a little baby time in with Cullan.

Brylee and William played very nice together on Friday and then at the end they hugged for a full minute before letting go.  Too funny, she has 6 months on him, but he has 6 inches on her :)

Visiting at Grandma Ruth's house (my Grandma).  William found her house very interesting with lots of doors and stuff to look at.
Helping Grandpa cut up the celery for stuffing.
The three older boys dancing on the fireplace.

And piling in the chair

Grandpa didn't know the correct way to shovel so William had to show him that you take the snow from the grass and put it on the drive way, not the other way around!

Helping Grandma with the dishes.
Happy Birthday to my Mom today.  Thanks for a wonderful visit.  Hope you had fun today!

Daddy's home this weekend!

Adam was home this weekend with Friday and Saturday nights off.  Even though he tries to somewhat keep to a night schedule we do get to see more of him.  We took full advantage and had fun around the house with him.  Especially since we will be leaving him home for Thanksgiving while William and I visit family and friends.

We got out to enjoy the weather a bit, William helped me in the yard this morning, Daddy got out for a run, and so did I.  I was enjoying my tea and reading a book during nap, when I was told to get out for a run or a sweaty pair of underwear were going to be lobbed in my direction.  What a nice husband, right?

Playing in our new clothes (great fit Gma S!) with our new toys.

Dad's were just designed to be jungle gyms, right?

William climbing onto my foot to be "walked" around.

Williamisms for the week:

"Your welcome, no problem Momma", every time I say thank you to him.

"That's the best ... I never had" or "That's the best thing I never dooed"

"Rainbows are big, Cranes are big, Daddy's big, Daddy's strong, what makes Daddy strong?" we then proceeded to have a conversation about how eating good food and exercising makes us big and strong.

"That's my crane, only my friends can use my crane, no grownups can touch it" about a building crane along the highway.  He then goes on to name who can and can't touch it.

"Ya, ya, ya, yourself", definitely picked up from Daddy's list of expressions.

"Mom, why is the moon a crescent", and then a challenging conversation where I tried to explain how the sun was behind the earth making a shadow on the moon.  Clearly by the repeat questions the concept was still too big for him, so a quick topic change and on we went talking in the car.

Birthday Party Time!

William's Mickey Mouse themed Birthday party was fun for all.  We had a nice sized group, all Grandparents, and the kids had fun playing with old and new toys.  My friend Melissa again took pictures, so I don't have many to share yet, only those taken by Grandma Mc.  Thanks to all who made it to the party and thanks for all the great new toys to play with, we are definitely set till Christmas!

One of the favorite toys, a cool mailbox.

Pictures from the week.  William has been practicing his bossing skills.  It's "Mommy you sit there, no not there, here!", or "Boys only in the bathroom".  Some we are allowing slide and some we have budded heads over, oh the joys of three year olds!

Got some good pictures with nice lighting last weekend of the "boys".

William and I ventured to the park despite the cold last weekend and had fun digging, making lines in the sand with sticks and swinging on the big swings.

My acrobat swinging, kicking and hanging from my exercise bar.  We repeated swinging then running over to Momma, jumping into my lap then flipping back to the ground about 30 times.  What fun!

Lists

I love lists.  I love to-do lists, grocery lists, don't forget lists, or just listing things in my head.  So here are some going around in my head right now.

List of foods/snacks for William's party next weekend: Chili, cornbread muffins, deviled eggs, jello shaped like Mickey ears and Mickey Mouse cupcakes.

Yard work tasks that need to be done:  Rake leaves, take load of twigs to compost dump, clean up remaining perennials, bring inside swings, refill bird feeders, and turn the compost pile.

List of baby stuff we are lending out to an ecstatic couple at work that are blessed with a pregnancy via IVF:  Swing, pack-and-play, jumperoo, car seats, walker.  And by them getting use out of this stuff it is starting to settle in okay with me that William might be our only child.  There is a little pang every once in a while, but it is getting duller as the years go by.  Plus William is just too fun right now, he is into doing so much and has such an opinion about everything that cracks me up.

List of baby stuff that we still use to this day: monitor, changing table mat (hopefully for not to much longer), stroller, crib converted into toddler bed, etc.

Okay enough of the lists in my head.

William was a great grocery store helper this morning and added a few things to his cart that I didn't have on my list but apparently was in his head: peanut butter, fruit cups and pudding cups.  All stuff we will eventually eat, so no big deal.  He also helped me rake leaves onto the tarp then pull them from the back of the yard to the curb.  Then we took a break to swing.  The white hat he is wearing is mine, the 2T-4T hats are too tight he says and since his usual one was left at daycare he was wearing one of mine, what a big noggin!

And a funny face picture from the other evening, boy do I love this little guy!
