I am starting to get a cold, and so I was blowing my nose when the giggles started. After that I just did it for dramatic effect.

Our little monster
William tried on his new winter apparel (a bunting suit). We bought it a little big so that it would fit this whole winter as he seems to be growing out of his clothes so quickly. And this morning we got to use it for the first time as we went for an early morning walk while Daddy was sleeping and the temperature outside was 45 degrees, burrrr.
He didn't appreciate having his hands covered up, so I had to open one up so he could knock his toys around on his stroller. When ordering the red color I didn't think about the connection to U of Wisconsin football, and an older gentleman asked us if we were fans while we were on our walk. Darn it, we are Minnesota fans, but they didn't have this in Maroon and Gold!
My guys on the floor playing. I am sure they are sick of getting their pictures taken, but when they are playing it just melts my heart.

Saturday Fun
Adam test drove a Subaru Outback and was able to keep it over night so that I could test drive it. We both really like it, so it looks like that will be our next car. The only question is when to turn in the Jeep and buy the new car. The Jeep has been a great vehicle for us, we bought it right after we got back from our Honeymoon in 2003. The mileage is almost 170,000miles, so now the debate in our house is going to be whether to trade it in to prevent something going wrong with it that would hurt its trade in value, or continue on without car payments. I think Adam knows what he wants to do, but I am on the fence.
Here is Will playing on the floor wearing his new big boy shoes. We went shopping a couple of weekends ago to get him some shoes as all we currently had were soft soled shoes. The sales lady at Stride Rite said that William has big feet for his age. It made it a little tough as the sizes that fit him were designed for walkers, not crawlers. We ended up with one brown pair and one blue pair that we hope will still fit when he starts walking.
William has been raiding the kitchen looking for cabinets to open. So far he still has access to the Tupperware and my baking bowls. Two bowls were confiscated from the kitchen and taken to the living room where they now serve as metal drums, hats and places to put stacking cups and random plastic farm animals.

10 Months Old
William is ten months old today. Let's see what is new...
Four new teeth coming in on the top. We thought it was just the two middle ones, but now the two on either side are also breaking through the gums. So that makes six in total.
Army crawl is picking up speed and allowing Will to check out more and more stuff in the living room, hall way, and his room. So we are slowly moving more and more stuff up higher, out of the way, etc.
He loves bath time and playing with the water. He loves the tug boat that streams water from the front and doesn't mind water on his head. He has only taken one digger so far, face first into the water. I grabbed him quick, but he got a mouth full of water and was not happy about it. Now he seems to be extra careful and has his legs extended out straight at a 90 degree angle to each other for extra support.
His pincer grasp is improving and he is about 90% accurate with his puff's from high chair tray to mouth trajectory. We are trying to slowly add in more table food and yesterday he did really well with pot-roast carrots, potatoes and a little meat.
William's babbling has become louder and more varied. We suspect his first word will be Dada, he can say it now, but doesn't really apply it to Adam.
He has always loved books but in the last couple of months he insists on books before bottle at night. He sits so well and is so quiet while I read to him. It is a ritual I love doing with him. Half the books we ready I could probably recite by heart if asked. Some of his favorites include "Big Little", "Baby Bear, Baby Bear, What Do You See?", "Ten Little Ladybugs", "Buzz Buzz Busy Bees", and "The Big Red Barn".
We went of a long hike yesterday at a State Park called Kettle Moraine. First we started off on a small trail, but it started to get too overgrown and Adam was having to duck quite a bit. So then we drove over to another area of the park where the path is wider and better up kept. William had a great time checking everything out and making lots of noise to scare away any wild life. I had my first try at the back pack on the last part of the hike, and wow is that a work out going up big hills. My thighs were screaming by the end. William had a great time playing "giddy-up" with my hair as he was riding along. Good thing I have lots of hair!
He didn't want to sit still for a picture, so I took pictures and repositioned the bear as he crawled along. Its amazing how much he has grown, in the first pictures I took with this bear it was almost as big as him. This little guy has enriched our lives in so many ways and we love watching him grow and learn.

First Kiss
William got his first kiss from a girl yesterday, it was too cute. We were at a party with my co-workers and my good friend Suzy's little girl, Julianna gave Will four or five kisses. Mostly on the forehead and nose.
It was fun to see the all the children and how much they have grown. The 16-17month old kids are toddling all around keeping their parents busy. Will had fun crawling, pulling on the grass and watching all those big kids play.

Crawling along
No hiking for us today, it is a rainy rainy day. We got a video of William crawling on the wooden floor yesterday, I wasn't sure if he would be able to get traction or not, but he did just fine with his army crawl. I couldn't get the video to upload, too big I guess.
Will was insisting on helping me with folding the laundry. He had to make sure every last sock was out of the basket. What a great help!
Yesterday I was able to get a bunch of yard work done during nap time and when William was up we played in the back yard on a blanket as the weather was perfect. 70 degrees and mostly sunny. The middle picture is William hanging upside down from his daddy's arms. It makes me nervous as I think he is going to spit everything up, but he seems to enjoy it.

Weekend update
We are having a wonderful weekend with Daddy home all three days with us. Adam was able to get Saturday off and had Sunday and Monday as him normal off days this week. Yesterday we ran some errands up in Appleton as our car had to go into service for a broken axle joint, what a fluke issue. We were driving along on Tuesday on the way back from lunch, Adam said the car was making a funny noise. I thought it was a flat tire, but turned out to be the axle joint. So luckily Adam's parents were out an could help him get a ride back from the dealer. We got a rental and then picked up the fixed car on Saturday.
Since we were up in Appleton we stopped in at the mall to shop for some navy shirts. We are having a family picture taken with my side of the family. Adam found a nice shirt and sweater at Eddie Bauer and then through in some guide gloves (you never know when you might be leading an expedition to Everest) at the last minute. The total was way higher than I was expecting so after I paid I asked Adam how much the gloves cost, he didn't look at the price, he just guessed about $40 and thought he would use them to snow blow. Well they were $120! Needless to say they will be going back.
William is getting faster with his crawling, but he is still army crawling with his belly down. He is enjoying this new found freedom to check out furniture and toys all over the living room. He has graduated into the big tub for baths and is having a good time playing with all his toys that now fit in there. I will have to allow a little more time for play than I used to in our bedtime ritual.
Will's top two teeth have broken the gum line. The way I knew for sure was he is grinding and clicking them together, I hope that is just a reaction to the new sensation as that sound is not a pleasant one, nor do I want him messing up his little teeth.
Will didn't get a good afternoon nap yesterday due to the timing at the mall so we took an afternoon walk and he fell sound asleep. Too cute so I had to snap some pictures. He looks like my baby when he is sleeping, but awake his is my little boy. I can't believe how fast he is growing up and how much he can do.
We are planning a hiking trip tomorrow so hopefully I will have more pictures to share then.
