Happy 9th Anniversary

Adam and I celebrated our 9th Anniversary this week.  We had a nice dinner at home, a trip to the car wash (exciting for William and makes Adam happy), and celebrated with ice cream at DQ.  Our anniversary presents to each other, new running shoes!  William had a blast at the shoe store throwing away all the tissue paper and shoe stuffers; the clerks thought he was hilarious running back and forth throwing stuff away.  Kept him entertained long enough for us both to find some nice shoes.

Here's to nine great years and many more to come!

Visit from Grandpa Mc

Grandpa Mc was out for a nice visit this weekend.  Grandma Mc was in Iowa so it gave 

him a chance to sneak out for a quick weekend visit.  William had fun knocking Grandpa over on the ground with his fast ball, I came home to this game on Friday.  William was laughing hysterically every time Grandpa when down, the said "Sorry Grandpa" and helped him back up.

We went to Menard's and Lakeside park on Saturday morning, rode the train, petted the animals, rode the carousel, and the spinning cars.  Sunday we went to church and attempted to convey to a 2.5 year old that you have to be quiet for an hour, quite a challenge.  All in all a nice visit and we look forward to seeing all the Grandparents soon up north.

William now knows how to get into our cell phones, so password protects have now been added.  He likes to randomly type in numbers, soon I am sure he will master all the apps.

 

Playing in the pool last weekend when it was so hot.  We got the beach ball all blown up and had fun with it for a little while.  So far we haven't let Murphy pop it, only because it is up on a high shelf.

Strawberry Weekend

We wandered around and checked out some other parks near out house.  William had fun playing on the elementary school's playground even if a lot of it was a bit beyond his physical capabilities.

Eating popsicles, blowing bubbles and running through the sprinkler in the back yard on a hot afternoon.

We had tons of fun with Grandma S this weekend.  We went strawberry picking a couple towns over and had fun riding on the wagon pulled by the tractor out to the field.  William was doing great with picking until he discover that you could eat them in the field too.  Then I think about 20-30 strawberries didn't make it into the box (or got taken out while Grandma wasn't looking).

William also befriended a 80 year old man waiting for his wife of 50 years to pick her strawberries.  The gentleman was amazed by William still eating strawberry after strawberry when we were done picking.  Next year I will have to remember to put him in a red shirt instead.

All in all we picked about 17 pounds and froze 15 pounds.  During the next visit from Grandma Mc, I think we will be making strawberry jam!

Sandy Fun

We had lots of family fun this weekend.  Adam was still on a day schedule due to training last week, so we got to do things together in the morning when William is at his best and we have more time to go places.

We went to the Children's Museum in town and had fun making pizzas, launching pin-pong balls, exercising, and playing in the coral reef.

William and I had tons of fun playing in the sand on the Lake Michigan shoreline, we dug holes, made sand turtles and crocodiles, and buried our feet.  We found out Adam isn't much of a beach person, he tried to play, but it just wasn't his thing, so next time we are taking Grandma Mc instead!

The train, carousel, and the spinning cars opened up in town at the park, so William had to try them all.  I didn't think he would be able to handle the spinning cars, but he seemed to have a great time.  Next time we will have to try to catch the petting zoo when it is open.

A cool evening playing at the park within walking distance of our house.  William has gotten a lot more comfortable meeting new people and will run up to them look up at them and say Hi.  He played with a little boy named Ethan last time we were there.  They got along good, doing a good job of taking turns on the play equipment.

William has started to call Adam "Fella", as in "What are you doing Fella?", or "Hi Fella".  It cracks us up an therefore it has continued.  Not sure if someone at daycare calls him that, or where he heard it.

Will is starting to resist getting kisses or hugs which makes me sad, I have to sneak them in with tickles for now I guess.  And he has been having issues in the morning during drop off time, they switched the room he starts out in to his regular room and he doesn't like.  I think he liked playing with the older kids toys in the other rooms and enjoyed the variety.  The ladies say he is fine soon after I leave, but it does make leaving harder.
