Happy 10th Anniversary

Adam and I celebrated 10 years of happy marriage yesterday.  We went out to our favorite Thai restaurant for a lunch date.  We are going to escape for the first time since William was born later in July for a trip to Chicago.  I am very much looking forward to that.  Hard to believe that 10 wonderful years have flown by.  I would marry this guy all over again in a heart beat!

Catching up from the last two weeks.  Last weekend William and I headed to the strawberry farm to pick strawberries and peas.  The wild gobbling of strawberries I saw last year from my pint size picker was replaced this year with a strawberry delivery man.  William went up the row picking a couple strawberries in his little crate then came back to my flat to deliver them, over and over again.  Only the ones I asked if he could help me eat were eaten.  Which was probably okay as since it was raining as we picked, and the strawberries were a bit muddy.  We then picked peas in the pea field and gathered up our goodies and headed home.

The last two weekends we broke out the pool and had fun spraying water, running through the sprinkler and being a pool monster.  For those who are not familiar with pool monsters, a pool monster goes out into the grass, gets covered in grass pieces then crawls back into the pool to wash off the grass.  The pool monster's mother then tries to scoop up all the grass with a net and the cycle repeats itself till the pool monster's mother gives up on cleaning up the grass as she can't keep up.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers in our lives.  William is lucky to have such a great Father who cares about him so much and is there for him in every way. We got to celebrate Father's day with three generations as Grandma and Grandpa S are in town to help watch William as I have to travel for training all week.

William and I checked out the Kaytee Learning center this weekend.  Very neat selection of birds and learning games.

 We then had a great time visiting our friends Suzy, Ryan and Miss Julianna.  She shared her playset, tent and rocket toys.  They had a fantastic time chasing the little tan moths in the grass as they fluttered from location to location.  There was lots of running and squeeling.

Chilly Cabin Weather

So the weather didn't cooperate for out trip up north to the cabin all that much, but we had fun anyways.

First off we celebrated my parent's 40th Wedding Anniversary!  We had a large get together at my parents house and they had a much bigger turn out than expected.  Thanks to all who helped us celebrate.  Before the party we had some fun with the cousins!

Then it was off to the cabin, the only nice day above 70 degrees was our last day there, but maybe the colder weather was good, because the mosquitos were out in full force!

Helping Grandma make Banana Bread

Okay now for the fishing story.  After purchasing $49 in licenses we headed out with our borrowed fishing gear and our corn (yes that is what we fished with).  William got bored after two casts, Adam got bored shortly after.  My Mom threw the anchor in with out the rope attached (not sure who untied it, but it wasn't a good idea), so she ended up with a new anchor for $40.  William dropped the fish net into the water and it sank before we could get it, so we then purchased a new net for my brother Dan and a floating net for William to play with.  So how many fish did we catch you ask....one little perch about 4.5 inches long between all of us.  So I guess we will have to try different bait next time.  Either way it gave us a good story and Mom and I had fun fishing.

My Mom decided that her and I were going to learn how to drive the boat.  So of course I was then nominated to be the first to learn.  And proud to say I learned all the switches and buttons, but need to work on my reverse and docking skills.  A little more practice and I should have it.  We will see if then my Mom wants to learn or is content to have me drive her around :)

On one of the especially rainy and cold days we headed to Bemiji to the Headwaters Science center for some fun.  William loved the farm tractor simulator, the health exhibit's auto blood pressure cuff and a bear den cubby hole (what a combination!).

Saw an neat aerial battle between an osprey and a bald eagle over a fish.

 William told Adam when we got home the things he liked the best were Sandy Point and the salad bar that the Branch house (really called Ranch House Supper Club).  To emphasize how much he liked them he held out his arms as wide as he could go and said that's how much he liked them.

On the way home since it was raining we stopped off in Duluth at the Aquarium there for some activity before the rest of the car ride home.

Earlier in the week we stopped in at Grandma and Grandpa S's house for lunch out on the deck.  Before lunch we played ball with Grandma and Grandpa.
