Baseball and the birds

William is a fan of the Twins and the Brewers, since the Brewers aren't doing so good lately he decided to wear his Twins apparel (thanks to his Aunt and Uncle) and show off his baseball skills (okay he doesn't really have any yet, but some day he will).

I just love that everything is growing and green. Here is our house....

And here is Mrs. Robin's house that she made on our roof... Looks like one or two eggs in there. She guards it pretty well, though Grandpa S did have to scare off a crow the other day while she was out of the nest. She doesn't like it when we come out on the deck and stand around. But if we sit down and stay quiet she will sneak under the deck and reclaim her nest with us out there.

Six months and counting

Let's see... what is new. William is starting to sit for short periods of time by himself. We either stick the boppy around him or have him on the ground in front of us. He loves his jumperoo and had fun with all the little rolling parts.

He has mastered the back to front rolling, but haven't seen too much of the opposite direction except for in his crib. During bath time he loves to grab for all the kitchen stuff near the bath, the bottle brush, faucet, and anything else that happens to be close, so last night we started putting a ducky in the bath and he had fun chasing that around.

William loves to laugh at Murphy and Murphy seems to be doing good with William. Murphy has healed from his surgeries and recovered from his stomach upset after the fact. We have been calling him hillbilly puppy as he is now missing two front bottom teeth. He goes in today for a much needed summer hair cut. Especially if it is going to be in the eighties next week.

William continues to drool like crazy and everything has to go in his mouth. Looking at his lower gums I can see a couple of little bumps that look like two front teeth working their way up. So we will see when they make their entrance.

William has been doing great at sleeping through the night. It has now been the norm for him to fall asleep at 7:30 pm and sleep till 6am. Looking back I don't know how I did two feedings and then went to work. The sleep is much appreciated.

I am officially back to my pre-pregnancy weight, so that feels good. My shape isn't quite there, but I will keep working on it. I gave myself 9 months to take of the weight that I put on in 9 months, so I beat my goal.

Adam has been busy with training to be a Field Officer, which means he can train and evaluate new officers before they are able to work on their own. Next week he has more training, but according to him it should be more interesting. It has been nice having him home in the evenings and on weekends. William did have to go to full time day care last week and he did pretty good. He didn't get his good morning nap, but did sleep a bit in the afternoon.

JDRF Walk

Today we walked the 5K Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk up in Neenah. It was a beautiful day for it. William has a little bit of a runny nose and cough, but he did good at the walk. He napped pretty much the second 2/3 of the walk. We took some pictures at the end with our fellow walkers Suzy, Ryan and Julianna.

High Chair

William has started sitting in a highchair. The highchair used to be Adam's so it is fun to see Will sitting in it. Will likes his rice cereal mixed with milk and has been eating that for a couple of weeks, so we started introducing bananas, applesauce and pears. So far he really only has liked the pears, but we are going to give the bananas and applesauce another chance soon.

Mother's Day

Well it has been long week. William started a fever on Tuesday, went to the doctor on Wednesday (most likely just a viral infection), Murphy went for his surgery on Thursday, and the last two nights we have been dealing with a dog with diarrhea and an unhappy baby. Not exactly the Mother's day I pictured, but I wouldn't trade my life for anything.

William seems to be over the fever, but isn't sleeping all that great a night again. While he was sick he slept through the night three nights in a row, I was hoping it was going to be a trend that stuck, but guess not right now.

Murphy has either some reaction to the anesthesia, or stress induced stomach issues. We are trying the bland diet, but so far no luck, he was up every hour last night to go out to the bathroom. Adam doesn't sleep well with interruptions, so he is one tired Dad today.

Motherhood is not always what you expect, but none the less it is amazing. A big thank you goes out to our Mothers, thank you for the values, teachings and life you gave us. Hope you are having a nice relaxing Mother's day.

William and I were in Minnesota this weekend visiting family and friends and having a good time. We went to the Zoo to celebrate Miss Brylee's first birthday. William meet Great Grandma Ruth, Great Aunt Marcia , Great Uncle Chuck, and his new cousin Declan for the first time.

The drive there with William and myself (and Murphy) went well. He slept the first 2.5 hours on and off and then we stopped got everyone to the bathroom and feed and on we went. I had a bucket of pacifiers and toys that I passed back till we got to my parents house, and only in the last couple of miles did we start to have issues.

On the way back to WI, Grandma S rode with us which was good as William was much more fussy on the way home. Too much time in the car seat this weekend I think. All in all a good adventure and it was great to see everyone.
