On Vacation

Having fun on vacation, here are a few pictures so far...

The Three Cousins: Keegan, William and Declan

Out at the fire pit yesterday after the little ones were asleep.

Will's first time swimming.

He started out pretty apprehensive of the water and just hung out in our arms, but by the end he was splashing with his hands and laughing at myself or Adam when we would blow bubbles in the water with our mouths. All in all a good time, I am sure we will be back to the little pool in town more this week.

7 Months Old

William is 7 months old today...

Chewing on anything he can get in his mouth!

I think he looks a little like his Grandpa Mc (when he was a baby) in this picture.

Chilling with Daddy

A little upset, but see the tooth!

He has one tooth and one close on the way. Teething has not been too bad so far, he is just less smiley and a bit more fussy when hungry or tired.

He can sit on his own, but tends to want to straighten out more than bend to sit.

He is starting to show signs of being ticklish as Daddy's chin on his back and neck, and Mommy's nails on his feet seem to make him giggle and squirm.

William enjoys different textures and likes to scratch at the various fabrics around the house. He especially likes the little turtle stool I made that is in his room as it is made up of all different kinds of fabrics.

He still loves his Jumperoo and loves hanging out in the baby Bjorn while we walk around or outside the house. He likes to look at pictures of faces on the walls, whether his own or others.

He likes to laugh at Murphy when he is playing, so far the feeling is not mutual. Murphy has been getting in trouble lately for nipping at William when we are holding on to Williams hands and walking him around the living room. I called one of the vets in town that has a behaviorist, so hopefully we can schedule an appointment soon and get this resolved before William can move around on his own power.

William has graduated to a bigger car seat last week, which makes our outings a little more interesting. Yesterday we rode in three different carts at three different stores. He tends to lean a bit when sitting in the cart, so we found one of those fabric cart supports and the little straps seem to help him stay upright.

We are getting ready to head to Minnesota at the end of next week. The packing has already started as I don't want to forget anything. I hope William enjoys his first trip to the cabin. We get to spend the first couple of days with my brother, sister-in-law and nephews, then the rest of the time with my parents. So it should be a good time!

Peek-A-Boo

William's first tooth broke his gums yesterday. It's his bottom left tooth. He seems to be doing okay with it, just a little bit fussier. Tonight we were playing Peek-A-Boo and William was loving it.

Memorial Day

We had a mini adventure...

Yesterday we went to Horicon Marsh. They have a neat floating board walk over the water where you can see various birds. We saw pelicans, egrets, blue heron, coots, ducks, red wing black birds and some other swift type birds. We tested out Adam's father's day present (yes I know it's early, he always gets his gifts early). William enjoyed looking out and eventually got tired and fell asleep in the carrier.

Baseball and the birds

William is a fan of the Twins and the Brewers, since the Brewers aren't doing so good lately he decided to wear his Twins apparel (thanks to his Aunt and Uncle) and show off his baseball skills (okay he doesn't really have any yet, but some day he will).

I just love that everything is growing and green. Here is our house....

And here is Mrs. Robin's house that she made on our roof... Looks like one or two eggs in there. She guards it pretty well, though Grandpa S did have to scare off a crow the other day while she was out of the nest. She doesn't like it when we come out on the deck and stand around. But if we sit down and stay quiet she will sneak under the deck and reclaim her nest with us out there.
