I can do it on my own!

William is demonstrating his independence in little ways, but quite emphatically. It is no longer acceptable for Mom or Dad to hold the spoon when eating, Will must do it no matter how messy. And most of the time the spoon just slows him down, so there is cause to dig in with both hands. Applesauce and yogurt are a few favorites at this time.

He also needs to climb into his high chair without help. He must have reading material when allowing his diaper to be changed, and the list goes on.

William is now afraid of vacuums, mowers, and a cute little star fountain bath toy (he practically bolts away from the thing if it even enters the bath with him). The vaccum and the mower is the noise element, but I am not sure what he is scared of with the fountain, silly boy.

William has very good fine motor skills and is getting into everything lately. Yesterday he figured out how to open his lotion container. This morning I was feeling like an inattentive Mother as William got into the gel soap in the dishwasher that was about to be run (some got in his mouth, yuck!), the dirt of our potted tree, and I thought he ate a label from my dental floss container. Adam seems to think there never was a label, I hope he was right. Each of these events went from innocent to investigative in the time it took for me to turn my back.

That's all I can think of today, after nap we are headed our friends Max and Maya's 2nd Birthday party, should be fun!
