I couldn't ever get the fever that daycare said they saw, but it was fine to keep him home after the daycare ladies told me all the illness that was going around daycare: Croup, RSV, Strep Throat, and Bronchitis!
Beyond being sick William has been testing the boundaries lately. Last night's dinner was anything but calm. We had to go so far as to put him on his first 2 min timeout The first couple attempts of putting him in his room ended up with a crying toddler in the dining room flailing limbs. Finally we put him back in his room with a gate blocking the door and let him cry it out for 2 minutes.
It all started with wanting a cupcake before dinner which was denied. Then it moved on to what chair to sit in and if he wanted to eat what was presented to him. We broke down and offered a more friendly toddler meal compared to the Cottage Pie Adam and I ate. We got a little more cooperation after the timeout, and even more so after he finally ate something.
There has been a little trend of this going on at the house lately and it has caused my analytical brain to try to figure it out, is it him getting over his cold, missing Grandma and Grandpa, 2 year old independent thought, or something else. Upon a suggestion from a co-worker I checked in his mouth to see if any more molars are appearing, BINGO. One top 2 year old molar breaking the gums, so hopefully we get our nicely behaved little boy back soon! All I know is...
Hungry Toddler + Testing Boundaries + Molar Coming in + Long week at work = Momma needs a glass of wine!
Playing in our pajamas with the laundry basket later that night.

You just gotta a love manic 2 year old with that smile! Have a great weekend and week.
