Little Zoo and Water Table
We had Grandma S out for a visit to help watch Will while I had to work shifts this past weekend. We had fun playing in the water table and going to a little zoo near our city.

Fun at the Bog
We had a fun visit from Grandma and Grandpa S this weekend. They had fun with William all day on Friday and then we had fun as a family checking out the ducks, turtles and birds at the bog walk at a nature preserve.
Helping Grandma in the kitchen with dishes. Give him a spoon to stir the bubbles and he is all set.

The bog walk platform, a bit of a great day, but it didn't rain thankfully till we got home.

Picking up pebbles and then letting them drop, slowed down our trip back to the car!

The trillium and violets were blooming in the woods. I have never met a flower I didn't want to take a picture of.

William still fits in the hiker, but doesn't want to stay in there for long.
Have a great rest of the weekend, I hear someone making peeps on the monitor, gotta go.

18 Month Stats
Quintessential William: outside, bubble wand in hand, trying to make the dog go where he wants.

Inside munching on snacks, or should I say stuffing as many as will fit in his cheeks!

William is 27 lb 13 oz (75%), and 34 3/4" tall (90% I think). He is doing great developmentally according to the doctor and has increased his vocabulary. Let me see if I can think of all the words he knows...
dog-dog, mama, dada, ball, car, all done (which sounds more like ah dah), bubbles (bub-bas), kitty, turtle (tu-ta), frog (fra), cheese, water (wa-wa), and more
Still at 12 teeth, 4 on top, 4 on bottom and 4 molars. He has an ear infection that he just can't seem to get rid of even with the strongest antibiotics, so we will be scheduling an appointment with an Ear Nose and Throat doctor to see about tubes.
He is a crack up and makes us both laugh during dinner. We are having so much fun with him learning and talking. Hard to remember him 1.5 years ago as a tiny 6lb miracle.

Please let this be the last cold of the spring!
Thursday at work it seemed everyone was sick around me, but I was healthy and so voiced that I was now going on 3 weeks with out a cold (which has been a record this winter). Thursday when I picked him up from daycare he felt warm. By 4 am it was 102 and by 7am this morning it was 103 with Advil. So I stayed home and kept him medicated to keep the fever down and gave lots of lovings. In fact my arm and back are sore from holding him almost all day. Most of the day he just wanted to cuddle or sleep on my chest, poor little guy. He is still on antibiotics for his ear infection he just can't seem to shake, so this is most likely viral, which means most likely in a week or so I will have a bad cold.

I can do it on my own!
William is demonstrating his independence in little ways, but quite emphatically. It is no longer acceptable for Mom or Dad to hold the spoon when eating, Will must do it no matter how messy. And most of the time the spoon just slows him down, so there is cause to dig in with both hands. Applesauce and yogurt are a few favorites at this time.
He also needs to climb into his high chair without help. He must have reading material when allowing his diaper to be changed, and the list goes on.
William is now afraid of vacuums, mowers, and a cute little star fountain bath toy (he practically bolts away from the thing if it even enters the bath with him). The vaccum and the mower is the noise element, but I am not sure what he is scared of with the fountain, silly boy.
William has very good fine motor skills and is getting into everything lately. Yesterday he figured out how to open his lotion container. This morning I was feeling like an inattentive Mother as William got into the gel soap in the dishwasher that was about to be run (some got in his mouth, yuck!), the dirt of our potted tree, and I thought he ate a label from my dental floss container. Adam seems to think there never was a label, I hope he was right. Each of these events went from innocent to investigative in the time it took for me to turn my back.
That's all I can think of today, after nap we are headed our friends Max and Maya's 2nd Birthday party, should be fun!

Windy Weather
We are trying to make the most of this weather, it is sunny, but really windy today. The kind of wind that makes your eyes water. We have had a nice low key weekend doing the regular stuff, groceries, errands, a walk, to the library, etc. while Daddy worked.

Have a great week everyone. And a happy birthday to Brylee, enjoy being 2!
William has started squinting when I get the camera out, I am guessing in anticipation of the flash.
His serious face, brought out when concentrating, in this case reading on his own.
Playing in pajamas this morning before getting dressed.
Gotta love a smile and laugh that comes straight from the belly.
Coming my way fast, hence a little out of focus, but I couldn't resist the mischievous smile. William took a digger yesterday on the drive way while carrying a grocery bag and trying to escape Daddy.
Have a great week everyone. And a happy birthday to Brylee, enjoy being 2!
