Birthday Pic's from Melissa

Some of my favorites from William's 3rd Birthday party that didn't make it on to our Christmas card (hopefully I get that sent out before Christmas!).

We couldn't find the candle lighter, or matches so we had to use my Creme Brulee torch to light his candles!

Thanks again Melissa for some great shots!

Snow's gone

So the snow didn't last till Christmas, bummer.  Our snowmen didn't even last one day and they fell over, now they are a collection of rocks, sticks and leaves (kinda need to rake the yard again, I was hoping the snow would cover it up till spring).

Over the monitor I am hearing the "This old man came rolling home" song.  Too funny.  He rarely will allow me to sing or sing himself, but in his bed he will sing himself to sleep.

Today we needed to get out and run around.  So off to the "Airplane museum" we went.  The volunteers keep asking us if we knew where things were, or telling about how you could go on this or that airplane, and I had to keep replying that we have been there before many times.  So much so that William knows where to go, and I have to hurry to catch up.

First stop was to the rocket blaster.  What's better than buttons that launch a bottle rocket to the ceiling?

Rocket successfully blasted to the ceiling.
Crank to make liquid magnets change shape, cool!

There is a tunnel with automatic doors that take you into the larger kid interactive area and William is still scared of them.  He doesn't like the noises he tells me, so here I am carrying a 38lbs little boy thorough the doors.  Once inside he is fine and climbs up into any cockpit he can and has to push every button, pull every lever and check it all out.

And one picture of a plane, there are so many I can't tell if this is a new one or not, the colors caught my eye.

My Christmas shopping is almost done, I have done little baking, but can make up for it next weekend.  My parents and my brother Kevin join us for Christmas again this year, so I am looking forward to their visit.  We are also going to make strawberry jam (still 15 lbs or so in the freezer from this summer).  I just need to convince my Mom to compromise on how thick she wants to make it!

Have a good week and a great Christmas!

Snowing!

Grandma and Grandpa S were out for a visit to allow me to make a business trip to Georgia.  It was a lot of driving and flying for a 3.5 hour meeting with a customer, but it went well.  The weather there was so nice, 76 and sunny.  I even got a run in the first day we were there.

Georgia was surprisingly wooded in the north, we hardly saw any towns.  We did drive by Fort Benning and I thanked that Fort for introducing me to Adam.  My brother and Adam were at basic training together the summer of 2000 and became friends.  Little did I know the friend of Adam's with the funny last name would become my husband.  I met Adam at Dan's welcome home party.  I remember talking more to Adam's Mom than him, but I thought he was pretty good looking.  Dan then made the connection for us and the rest is history.

While I was down south I learned about cotton, pecan trees, hot boiled peanuts and Duck Dynasty, a popular TV show with my traveling companions.  The stars of the show some times make duck calls and mess around red neck style.  FYI don't call them duck whistles, or you will get laughed at.

Up North G&G and William were busy making Christmas cut out cookies.  Here's the boys elbow deep in dough and flour.  The cookies look awesome and are chilling in the freezer till Christmas time.

We finally got a chance to shovel snow at our house today.  The snowpants went on this year with no fits, but the boots were another story.  After getting out the larger pair and convincing Will that we need to wear snow boots to go outside, we made it out.   William started shoveling and then was looking for a place to dump the snow in his shovel.  I said "Go over towards Lynn's house (our neighbor) and dump it in the grass".  Well he took my word for it and walked all the way over to her house, I caught him shy of her driveway about to dump.  Then we got the hang of it and shoveled the driveway and the yard in areas.

After shoveling lost its appeal we made some snowmen, the first turned out well, the second didn't get finished because we discovered that throwing snow balls is even more fun.

Chasing Momma down to throw snow at her, while eating the falling snow.  William would pick up a wad of snow then tell me to pick up my snow, while I was bent down he would throw the snow at my butt and laugh, laugh, laugh.  I guess it makes an easy, big target!

The snowmen together :)

If your getting snow today, get out an enjoy it, might as well make the most of it!

Why, Why, Why?

So the question around out house this week has been "Why?".  Some times he gets so excited that he can't even wait for the first answer before asking a second and third "Why?".  I can handle about 5 in a row before I run out of answers and patience and the answer becomes "Just because I said so", "That's just the way it is", or "I don't know buddy, go ask your Dad".

Managed to get the tree up and decorated and three bushes outside.  The big tree is next, but I think it is going to be next weekend before the outside lights look more balanced.

William and I headed to the park today, most of it was wet so we stayed on the digger and tennis courts.  We had fun chasing Murphy and splashing in the puddles, and Murphy got some much needed exercise.

I am traveling for work over night for the first time since William was born this week.  Just a short trip to Atlanta Georgia provided the flights work out.  G&G S are so helpful to come out for a quick visit, thank you guys!  I heard Christmas cookies are in the plans, so it should be a good time for Grandma, Grandpa and William.

Happy Thanksgiving

Lots of cooking, visiting, food, family and friends this Thanksgiving weekend.  So much to be thankful for, William, my family, my friends, my life, my health and last of all my husband (he couldn't come along this visit since he had to work, but we missed him).

Making cupcakes to celebrate birthdays for Brea, Keegan, and Grandma Mc
Me getting a little baby time in with Cullan.
The four boys sitting down
Action shot of the four boys with Brea, Dan and Gma Mc in the mix

Brylee and William played very nice together on Friday and then at the end they hugged for a full minute before letting go.  Too funny, she has 6 months on him, but he has 6 inches on her :)

Visiting at Grandma Ruth's house (my Grandma).  William found her house very interesting with lots of doors and stuff to look at.
Helping Grandpa cut up the celery for stuffing.
The three older boys dancing on the fireplace.

And piling in the chair

Grandpa didn't know the correct way to shovel so William had to show him that you take the snow from the grass and put it on the drive way, not the other way around!

Helping Grandma with the dishes.
Happy Birthday to my Mom today.  Thanks for a wonderful visit.  Hope you had fun today!
